Do I need to do anything to prepare for my treatment?

What treatments do you offer?
We offer a wide range of podiatry treatments including general foot care, nail care, ingrown toenails, verruca treatment, corn and callus removal, as well as more specialised services such as biomechanics assessments and custom orthotics.
What is a biomechanics assessment?
A biomechanics assessment looks at how your feet, legs, and body move and function. This helps us identify the cause of pain or discomfort, rather than just treating the symptoms. It is particularly useful for issues such as heel pain, knee pain, or recurring injuries.
Do you provide orthotics?
Yes. We offer custom orthotics designed specifically for your feet and lifestyle. These can help improve alignment, reduce pain, and prevent further problems by supporting how your feet function.
Will treatment be painful?
Most treatments are comfortable and designed to relieve discomfort rather than cause it. If any procedure may cause mild discomfort, we will always explain this in advance and ensure you feel at ease throughout.
How long is an appointment?
Appointment times vary depending on the treatment, but most initial consultations last between 30–45 minutes. We always allow enough time to assess and treat your concerns properly.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us at any time.
Can children be treated?
Yes, we treat patients of all ages, including children. Our approach is always gentle, friendly, and tailored to ensure they feel comfortable.
How often should I have treatment?
This depends on your individual needs. Some patients visit for routine care every 6–8 weeks, while others come as needed. We will always advise what’s best for you.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first appointment will include a full assessment of your foot health, discussion of any concerns, and treatment where appropriate. We will also provide advice to help maintain your foot health going forward.
Do you offer long-term care?
Yes. Many of our patients choose ongoing care to maintain healthy feet and prevent future issues. We are proud that many of our clients stay with us long-term.

What is a podiatrist/chiropodist?
A podiatrist is a health professional, trained and educated to assess, diagnose and treat problems of the foot and lower limb. Podiatrists can advise on foot care, health education, gait analysis, footwear advice and devise therapeutic care plans that are designed to maximise mobility and enhance the patient’s level of activity.
What is the difference between a chiropodist and podiatrist?
There is no difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist. The term chiropodist has been traditionally used in the United Kingdom, but the term podiatrist is recognised and used more internationally and reflects a broader scope of practice in both standard chiropody treatments, gait analysis and biomechanics.
The terms ‘podiatry’ and ‘chiropody’ is used interchangeably in the United Kingdom. The terms are protected so that only practitioners registered with the Health Professions Council can refer to themselves as a chiropodist or podiatrist (HCPC).
Do you provide NHS treatments?
We are a private clinic and as such we are not funded to offer free NHS treatment but comply with the standards that health care insurance providers require such as HCPC registration. Many NHS trusts do not provide podiatry/chiropody services unless the patients have an underlying medical disorder in conjunction with being considered to be a high risk patient.
